Norwalk Hospital is a 328-bed, not-for-profit, acute care community teaching hospital that serves a population of 250,000 in lower Fairfield County, Connecticut. Our community is our extended family, and our compassion is everyday. We treat all who seek our care with deserved respect; and as a teaching hospital, we nurture and educate the medical professionals of tomorrow. Our compassion compels us to pursue and offer multidisciplinary expertise. We have more than 500 physicians on our active medical staff, many of whom trained at the nation’s leading medical schools and hospitals, and 2,000 dedicated health professionals and support personnel. At Norwalk Hospital, we optimize patient outcomes with state-of-the-art medical technologies. We were among the first in the region to implement computerized physician order entry, a system that expedites the delivery of prescribed medicines to patients. Our use of information technology is nationally recognized by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine. And we offer surgical candidates minimally invasive robotic surgery in several areas of medicine, including cardiology, cancer treatment and advanced endoscopy.

What you should KNOW:

  • As a teaching facility for the Yale School of Medicine, we also provide advanced fellowship programs for physicians in gastroenterology and pulmonary medicine. Many of our physicians engage in research designed to provide patients with new treatments.
