The Office of Design & Construction provides management services for Norwalk Hospital’s renovations, remodels, relocations and new construction projects. Every day, our team works with skilled craftsmen to build a better hospital. Our work is measurable and tangible – you can see and touch the products of our wares. But more importantly, our efforts produce intangibles that can’t be measured – we create room for compassion and medical expertise; we adapt spaces to house lifesaving technologies; and we add comforting aesthetic to healing environments. Our team delivers meaningful results.
We’re accountable to each of the Hospital’s medical departments, and we’re expected to deliver high-quality, cost-effective projects on schedule, within budget and compliant to departmental requirements.
Multiple levels of accountability demand organization and a collaborative management style. We closely monitor the three imperatives of project management: progress, cost and quality. To maximize the three, we maintain open lines of communication. Yes, we’re approachable, but we’re also accessible, available to resolve issues as they arise. Customer satisfaction is our goal, and we strive for it from the moment a project begins to the moment it’s completed.
Projects are awarded through a process of qualification and bidding. To gain access to upcoming projects, bidders must first be licensed contractors who are familiar with the Norwalk Hospital Contractor Regulations Manual, and they must take and pass the Contractor Safety Test. Once the test has been passed, vendors can visit the Vendor Login page to access current projects at Norwalk Hospital.
