CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE
The mission of Norwalk Hospital is to provide uniquely excellent, innovative and compassionate health care with exceptional outcomes. Fundamental to this commitment to the Hospital’s patients and community is a focus on quality of care and patient safety.
Over the years, Norwalk Hospital has been a leader in developing and instituting a comprehensive and effective quality and patient safety program. This instrumental program involves physicians, direct patient care staff and ancillary staff and is based on one goal – to provide the highest quality, nationally accepted standards of care in a safe, compassionate manner.
Our commitment to providing high-quality and safe health care is nationally recognized. In 2011, Norwalk Hospital was awarded the HealthGrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence™ for the second consecutive year, the only hospital in Fairfield County so honored. This award recognizes the top 5 percent of hospitals in the country. These hospitals had statistically significantly lower risk-adjusted mortality and lower in-hospital complications than all other hospitals, according to HealthGrades®, a leading, independent health care rating organization.
We are committed to not only delivering excellent care, but also to making our patients and community aware of our performance. This portion of our website is dedicated to reporting on the quality of care and safety we provide to our patients.
Our goal is to be forthright and transparent in sharing this information with you because we believe it is the right thing to do. We hope that it provides you with answers you may have about our hospital, guides you in making informed decisions and assures you that the Hospital offers the highest levels of clinical excellence and safety.
