DANBURY, Connecticut – September 13, 2016 - Western Connecticut Health Network Emergency Medical Services will offer a two-day Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support Course (PHTLS) at Danbury Hospital on Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2, 2016. The PHTLS course will be held in the John C. Creasy Auditorium from 8 am to 4:30 pm. The 16-hour intensive continuing education program is designed to enhance the knowledge and skill of first responders, EMTs, paramedics, physicians, nurses, and other licensed health care professionals at all levels and is limited to maximum of 30 students. Enrollment will be based on a first come first serve basis.
The course delivers the latest 2011 standards in pre-hospital trauma care using lectures and dynamic hands-on skill sessions such as rapid extrication, pediatric immobilization and more.
The Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Course is recognized around the world as the leading continuing education program for pre-hospital emergency trauma care by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT). The course was created to promote excellence through continuing education in the handling of trauma patients by all providers involved in the delivery of pre-hospital care.
