Hungry?  Relax in Cafe on 5, located on the 5th floor of the hospital, and enjoy healthy, delicious meal and snack options. We offer fresh coffee, pasta, pizza, deli sandwiches, a soup and salad bar, grilled foods and sweet treats.

Greater Living Café

The Greater Living Café, located on the first floor adjacent to the Main Lobby, offers a tempting selection of gourmet coffee and teas, sandwiches, salads, soups, pastries, frozen yogurt and more – all in a casual dining setting.

The Hospital is conveniently located near I-95, Route 1, Route 7 and the Merritt Parkway.

  • I-95 Southbound (from New Haven area) – Take Exit 15. Bear right on ramp to traffic light. Turn right at traffic light onto West Avenue. At second traffic light, turn left onto Maple Street. The Hospital is straight ahead.
  • I-95 Northbound (from Stamford and South) – Take Exit 14. At the end of the ramp, turn left and proceed straight to the traffic light. Turn right onto Route 1. At third traffic light, turn left onto Maple Street. The Hospital is straight ahead.
  • Route 7 Southbound (from Danbury area) – Just over the Norwalk city line (directly opposite the Department of Motor Vehicles), turn right onto the Route 7 Connector (follow signs towards I-95). Take Exit 1 and turn left onto Van Buren Avenue (Route 1). Turn right at the second traffic light onto Maple Street. The Hospital is straight ahead.
  • Merritt Parkway Southbound (from New Haven area) – Take Exit 38. At the end of the exit, turn right onto Route 123 South. Continue straight until you reach the seventh traffic light.  Turn right onto Maple Street. The Hospital is straight ahead.
  • Merritt Parkway Northbound (from Stamford and South) – Take Exit 39. Proceed to the Route 7 Connector (follow signs towards I-95). Take Exit 1. Turn left onto Van Buren Avenue (Route 1). At second traffic light, turn right onto Maple Street. The Hospital is straight ahead.

The Grace Cole Jones Gift Shop at Norwalk Hospital, adjacent to the Main Lobby, is full of wonderful surprises, including fresh flowers, greeting cards, stationary, balloons, toiletries, jewelry, fashions, baby gifts and toys.

Want to send flowers or a gift to a patient?  Call us at 203-852-2444. Deliveries for patients are made by our volunteer staff prior to 3 pm at no additional charge. Proceeds from the Gift Shop are used for the improvement of hospital programs and services.

How to Request Copies of Your Medical Records

Patients treated at Norwalk Hospital can request a copy of their medical records by faxing or mailing a completed and signed Authorization for Release of Information form as outlined below.

If copies of your records are going directly to a physician or hospital there is no charge.  If copies are being sent directly to you, there is a fee of 12 cents per page.  Please note an additional form is required to obtain records for a deceased patient, see link below.  If you have additional questions please call us at 203-852-2320.

Access Your Electronic Medical Records via the Patient Portal

All WCHN facilities (Danbury, New Milford & Norwalk Hospitals) and affiliated WCMG medical practices use the Cerner electronic medical record system.  As part of this system patients can use the WCHN Cerner “Be Well” patient portal to view sections of their medical records along with test results, medication lists, communicate with providers, request prescriptions renewals and find other helpful medical information.  There is also a free mobile app you can download to access the Cerner portal called HealtheLife.

Parking

Main Entrance – 34 Maple Street
Patients and visitors, except those going to the Whittingham Cancer Center, Medical Office Building and Childbirth Center patients, should use the Main Parking Garage located on Maple Street.

Emergency Department – 34 Maple Street
The Hospital’s Emergency Department is located on Maple Street, next to the Hospital’s Main Entrance. Valet service is available at the Emergency Department entrance.

Whittingham Cancer Center – 34 Maple Street
Valet service is available for Whittingham Cancer Center patients at the entrance of the Cancer Center on Maple Street.

Radiation Oncology – 34 Maple Street
The Radiation Oncology Department is located in the new Whittingham Cancer Center located on Maple Street. Valet service is available for radiation oncology patients at the Cancer Center entrance on Maple Street.

Medical Office Building – 30 Stevens Street
Patients with appointments with physicians whose offices are located in the Medical Office Building can park in the Dana Lot located on Rhodonolia Park, off Stevens Street. To enter the building, please use the Medical Office Building main entrance located on Stevens Street.

Childbirth Center – Rhodonolia Park
The Hospital’s Childbirth Center entrance is located on Rhodonolia Park, off Stevens Street. Maternity patients in labor or arriving for a scheduled cesarean delivery can park in the dedicated spaces 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in the Dana Lot in front of the Childbirth Center. For the safety of patients and their babies, a security guard is posted at the Childbirth Center entrance 24 hours a day. Family members and visitors of maternity patients should use the Hospital’s Main Parking Garage located on Maple Street.

Pharmacy

Do you need a prescription filled? We’re right here!  At SWC Pharmacy, we go beyond filling your prescriptions—we support your best health. We take the time to discuss the proper use of your medications, and we work closely with your prescriber to ensure that your drug therapy is both appropriate and optimal. We provide medications for patients being discharged, those visiting our outpatient areas and members of our local community. We offer competitive prices and accept most major prescription drug insurance programs.

We have a wide range of products and pharmaceutical specialty items available and offer services you won’t find at your average drugstore. And though we’re located in the Main Lobby at Norwalk Hospital, we service the whole community.

You can use our Automated Refill System to request refills of your medications. Simply call our main phone number at 203-852-2690 and follow the instructions.

Visiting Hours

At Norwalk Hospital, we are committed to providing a safe, quiet and healthy environment for our patients, their family and friends. We recognize the therapeutic benefit and reassurance visitors provide our patients. 

We strive to ensure patients and visitors have a pleasant experience, in a quiet, safe and restful environment.  Visitors who have symptoms of a cold or infectious disease or who have recently been exposed to a communicable disease are asked to postpone visiting until symptoms subside.

All visitors are asked to bring photo identification with them whenever visiting the hospital.

Visitors at other hours must enter through the Emergency Department.
