Our Quality & Safety information provides objective and timely information to help you gauge the performance of Norwalk Hospital in various clinical care areas. Norwalk Hospital also uses this information to identify places where we could improve the quality of our care even more.
Measuring Quality & Safety
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), a federal agency, requires all U.S. hospitals to track and report certain statistics, called performance measures. More than 100 measures are tracked, although some hospitals don’t have enough patients with a certain condition to report on it, or don’t perform a certain procedure.
The goals of tracking and reporting these statistics are:
- To ensure quality and patient safety at each hospital
- To help the public compare hospitals and assess the care they deliver
- To encourage hospitals to use these statistics to help guide their improvement efforts
What Our Patients Are Saying
Norwalk Hospital distributes Press Ganey satisfaction surveys to patients who use our services, and we also receive unsolicited messages from patients who write to tell us about their experiences.
